CM inaugurates residential quarters for policemen in Coimbatore | Coimbatore News – Times of India

Coimbatore: Chief minister M K Stalin inaugurated via videoconference from Chennai the residential quarters for policemen in Coimbatore built at a cost of Rs 16.5 crore.
The multi-storeyed quarters inaugurated on Wednesday on Variety Hall Road has 98 dwellings with modern amenities for head constables and policemen. City police commissioner V Balakrishnan, mayor Kalpana Anandkumar, deputy mayor Vetriselvan and senior officials participated in the inaugural event organised here.
Meanwhile, Balakrishnan laid the foundation stone for a cyber lab to be built in Coimbatore.The lab will be built at a cost of Rs 35 lakh within the commissioner’s office premises.

Roads, drains to be built in city at Rs 1,700cr outlay
The Greater Chennai Corporation plans to re-lay 4,000 roads and build storm water drains for Kosasthalaiyar and Kovalam basins at a cost of Rs 1,700 crore. The project aims to reduce flooding in south Chennai areas. The road works will be completed by 2024 July.
