Delhi Traffic Police’s New Plan to Reduce Traffic Congestion in Karol Bagh | Delhi News – Times of India

New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory regarding a new plan to reduce traffic congestion in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh area. The plan will be implemented as a ‘trial’ for five days, from Feb 22 to Feb 26.
The plan intends to prevent frequent jams at the Bagga Roundabout by demarcating clear directions for traffic movement. Faiz Road will be a one-way from Bagga roundabout towards Rani Jhansi Road.Vehicles going towards Rani Jhansi Road will take Faiz Road. Traffic movement in the opposite carriageway will be prohibited.
The traffic coming on Faiz Road from Bagga roundabout will be permitted to only take left turn at Kalka Das Chowk towards Desh Bandhu Gupta Road. The right turn towards Desh Bandhu Gupta Road will be prohibited. Traffic moving straight towards Rani Jhansi Road via Kalka Das Chowk will also be allowed.
Oncoming traffic from Karol Bagh plying on Desh Bandhu Gupta Road will be allowed to move straight up to Rani Jhansi Road. However, this traff, ic will not be allowed to take the right turn towards Faiz Road.
Vehicles originating from Paharganj railway station will be allowed to move straight but will be forbidden to take a left turn towards Faiz Road.
Traffic on New Rohtak Road, originating from Liberty Cinema, will be allowed only up to the T-Point Rohtak Road. Vehicles will then have to mandatorily take a left turn to reach Rani Jhansi Flyover. But traffic will not be allowed to take a right turn towards Faiz Road.
Meanwhile, traffic coming from the T-Point Rohtak Road plying on New Rohtak Road will be allowed only to move straight. Left or right turn on Faiz Road are going to be prohibited.
If the trial plan yields positive results, the traffic police are expected to make it the standard for smooth movement of traffic.
