Hyderabad: To ensure no one is deprived of voting in the Lok Sabha polls, election authorities will now conduct house-to-house survey for enrolment.
Though the updated electoral rolls are ready, collectors, who are also district electoral officers, have been directed by chief electoral officer (CEO) Vikas Raj to conduct awareness camps to encourage those who have not enrolled so far to be part of the electoral process. They have been specifically asked to enrol those who turn 18 as per the cut-off date of April 1, 2024. The move is also aimed at including the aged, disabled, transgenders and sex workers.
In educational institutions, student ‘ambassadors’ will be given the responsibility to spread the word among the youth to get themselves enrolled.
The authorities will also create awareness about how to download an e-EPIC.
