Ludhiana: Gunshots were fired and two men injured as two groups clashed near Subhani Building Chowk in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Having suffered bullet injuries, Shubham Arora alias Shubham Mota and Nadeem have been admitted to a hospital. According to police, they are of the same group. A third man suffered minor injuries. He has been identified as Saurav.His medical examination was conducted at the civil hospital, but he later escaped from the hospital.
Assistant deputy commissioner of police (investigation and Zone-1) Amandeep Singh Brar said Shubham, who is facing facing multiple FIRs and was released on bail a few months ago, was heading one groun. He added the second group was led by Ankur, who too is a history-sheeter.
“They had fixed a time for the fighit in the wee hours of Wednesday. Shubham reached there with his accomplices, where Ankur and his aides were already present. They indulged in a clash, following which Ankur and his accomplices started firing at Shubham and his group. During the firing, Shubham suffered a bullet injury in the leg and Nadeem suffered a bullet injury in the spine. They were rushed to a hospital, while members of the other group escaped from the spot,” added Brar. The official said Saurav had come to the civil hospital for a medical examination, but he later escaped. Brar added they had registered a cross FIR against both groups.
