Narrow Escape for Woman and Kid in Car Accident on National Highway | Ludhiana News – Times of India

Ludhiana: A woman and her daughter had a miraculous escape on Wednesday, after a container having scrap fell on their car on the national highway in Khanna. Onlookers pulled the two out of the car.
Richa Gupta of Nayi Abadi in Khanna was going to drop her daughter, Damini, to her in Gobindgarh. When she drove her car on to the highway from the service lane, a truck carrying the container hit her car from behind.Richa’s husband Sumit Gupta alleged that the accident happened due to the negligence of the truck driver.
However, sources said the truck driver, instead of running away, stayed put and helped the woman. He also said he did not cause the accident, as the woman should have known that it is difficult for heavy vehicle to brake and she should have been careful when coming on to the highway. When contacted, Khanna City SHO Manpreet Singh said they were probing the matter. tnn
