New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Wednesday opened the newly refurbished two-storey public library at Lodhi Colony. The ambience of the upgraded library will provide people an environment where they can read books for hours without any disturbance, officials said.
NDMC chairman Amit Yadav said the library has been refurbished with Rs 10 lakh from MoS Meenakshi Lekhi’s MPLAD fund.“The library, located near Veer Savarkar Park, houses all types of books in Hindi, English, Punjabi, Urdu and folktales for kids and the general public. It has two floors each with an area of 115sqm. The seating capacity at the library is 75, with space for 35 persons on the lower level and 40 on the upper.” tnn
