6 killed in car crash in Belagavi | Hubballi News – Times of India

Belagavi: Six people were killed on the spot in an accident at Khanapur of Belagavi district on Thursday.
Six people were killed and four others were injured when their car hit a tree after its driver lost control over the vehicle on Mangyankoppa-Beedi Road in Khanapur taluk on Thursday afternoon. Police said four people died on the spot, and two more died on the way to hospital.
The deceased are car driver Shah Rukh Pendari, 30, Iqbal Jamadar, 50, Sania Langoti, 37, Umrabegum Langoti, 17, Shabnam Langoti, 37, and Farhan Langoti, 13.They were the residents of Haveri and Dharwad districts. The injured are Farhat Betageri, 18, Sophia Langoti, 22, Sania Iqbal Jamadar, 36, and Mahin Langoti, 7.
Police said they were given first-aid at nearby hospitals. The seriously injured are being treated at the Belagavi District Hospital. The condition of one of them is critical, according to hospital sources.
Police said the accident happened when 10 people were travelling in the car to Gullalli village of Khanapur from Kittur for a wedding. The car was completely crushed due the impact of the accident. Police retrieved the bodies from the vehicle with help from locals.
