CM invites all to Karunanidhi memorial opening | Chennai News – Times of India

Chennai: The memorial of the late chief minister M Karunanidhi on Marina beachfront would be inaugurated on Feb 26, chief minister M K Stalin announced in the state assembly on Thursday.
Responding to a question from DMK MLA N Ezhilan (Thousand Lights), Stalin said, “Work on the memorial has been completed. Also, the memorial of Anna (former CM C N Annadurai), who rechristened the state as Tamil Nadu, has been renovated,” Stalin said.
“The renovated memorial of Anna along with the newly constructed memorial of Kalaignar will be inaugurated at 7pm on Feb 26,” Stalin said.
“I am mentioning it here (in the assembly) because we (state govt) have not printed any invitation for the inauguration. We decided to hold the inauguration of the memorial as an event and not as a function. So, I invite all the MLAs, be it opposition parties or parties in alliance with us, through assembly speaker (M Appavu). I also invite the people of the state through you (speaker),” Stalin said.
