Prayagraj: Former head of the department of botany at Allahabad University, Prof Anupam Dikshit, has been awarded with lifetime achievement award at the recently concluded International Conference on Fungal Biology and Plant-Microbe Interactions held at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi.
Dikshit, 67, had been director, faculty recruitment cell (FRC) of AU and coordinator of rural innovation centre and founder coordinator of the centre of science and society at AU.He had also been the former director, Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies (IIDS) officiating dean faculty of science at AU. Considered to be a teacher par excellence, an able academician and efficient administrator, he was also awarded Excellent Award for Teachers by AU in 2016.
He also has to his credit of representing AU impactfully during Visitor’s Conference in May 2018 at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and is also visiting professor at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam, Andhra Pradesh and at Visva-Bharati Shanti Niketan, West Bengal. sHe also has to his credit of being awarded the first collaborative patent for AU (US, UK, Japan and India) and again the first independent patent at AU.
“Honours such as this give immense pleasure and satisfaction that my institution (Allahabad University) and the limited work that I contributed as a teacher and researcher has been given due recognition by the scientific fraternity,” said Prof Dikshit.
