Patna: At least 171 examinees were expelled for adopting unfair means in the 2024 annual Matriculation examinations that concluded on Friday. The maximum expulsions (36) were reported from Nalanda, followed by Bhojpur (33).
Altogether 73 impersonators were caught and forwarded to police custody during the examinations. The maximum impersonators (29) were caught in Lakhisarai district followed by seven in Saharsa district.
The examinations, conducted by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), were held at 1,585 centres across the state.At least 17 lakh candidates had applied for the examination this year.
In Patna district, more than 75,000 candidates took the examination at 70 centres, BSEB sources said.
