2 Teachers Suspended, Inquiry Initiated Over Alleged Conversions in Kota | Jaipur News – Times of India

KOTA: Two govt school teachers in Kota have been suspended and an inquiry has been initiated against a third, for their alleged involvement in religious conversion and “love jihad”, and ties with banned “jihadi outfits”.
The action was taken by Kota district education officer (secondary) on Thursday following a direction by state education minister Madan Dilawar, who received complaints against the teachers during a tour to Sangod block on Tuesday.
The three teachers, posted at govt senior secondary school in Khajuri Odpur village, have been ordered to register their attendance at the directorate of education, Bikaner, during the period of suspension and inquiry.
The teachers accused of illegal activities have been identified as Firoj Khan, Mirza Mujjahid and Shabana.
The minister was handed over a memorandum by residents of Khajuri alleging that the teachers were forcing schoolgirls to convert to Islam and offer namaz.
The villagers alleged that one Hindu girl was named as a Muslim in school records and was later abducted by Muslim youths. She was yet to be traced, they said.
In a video statement released by his office Friday, Dilawar said as soon as the matter was brought to his knowledge, he ordered the suspension of Firoj Khan and Mirza Mujjahid, and a probe against the female teacher, Shabana.
Following a thorough investigation, the trio would be dismissed, if found guilty, he added.
