Bengaluru: A visually challenged man and a woman, crossing a main road near Nelamangala, died after a speeding sportsbike rammed them Friday morning.
The deceased are Sridhar, in his 50s, and Archana, in her 30s. They were crossing Yentaganahalli main road when the biker, Ajit Kumar, hit them at 7am. The impact was so severe that Ajit fell on the road along with the bike and was dragged.He was shifted to a hospital with multiple fractures, police said.
Sridhar and Archana had visited an orphanage, that also runs a home for blind persons at Yentaganahalli. “They were planning to board a bus and while crossing the road, the sportsbike rammed them,” a police officer said, adding: “The accident is the result of Ajit’s rash and negligent driving. We will arrest him once he is discharged from hospital.”
Cops are trying to get details of Sridhar and Archana. “They had one keypad mobile phone and we called a few numbers from it, but none helped,” the officer said.
