Mumbai: Bombay high court on Friday directed the police to grant permission to a procession and rally to commemorate the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the condition that no hate speeches are made.
A bench led by Justice Revati Mohite-Dere on a petition by the organiser, Naresh Nile, directed him and BJP MLA Rajasingh Thakur from Telangana, the main speaker, to give an undertaking “that they will not make any hate speech.” Permission was refused as the MLA is facing cases in several states, and Mira-Bhayander had witnessed communal tension on Jan 22.tnn
