Fadnavis Failed to Curb Drug Trafficking: Amit Thackeray | Pune News – Times of India

Pune: Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is also the home minister, has failed to curb drug trafficking in the state, said Amit Thackeray, president of Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena.
Thackeray, who was at Savitribai Phule Pune University on Friday, called for action against drug abuse among young people. He had organised a march from Chatushrungi temple to the university for students’ demands like better food in the mess, speedy work of the sub-centres in Nashik and Ahmednagar, more hostels and active Vishakha committees.
“The Pune police recently seized drugs worth Rs 4,000 crore. If that is the seized amount, what will be the actual amount present in the city? It seems that the people in power are least bothered. As home minister, this is his (Fadanvis’s) failure. If in one city drugs worth Rs 4,000 crore are found, then, yes, it is his failure,” he said.
Thackeray said that he has no interest in standing for the LS election. “If Saheb (Raj Thackeray) asks me to accept the responsibility, I will happily accept it even if it is the role of a nagar sevak (corporator) or sarpanch,” he said. — Ardhra Nair
