Prayagraj: A revised schedule of the annual examination for the academic session 2023-2024 of the government/recognized schools of classes one to eight of the Basic Education Board has been released.
Following a letter, signed by secretary basic education, Pratap Singh Baghel, the revised exam will now start from March 16 instead of March 11 and will end on March 21.At the same time, duration of exam time has been increased from two hours to two and a half hours.
Moreover, the model question papers (written and oral) for the annual examination will be prepared at the district level by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) of the concerned district.
The question papers will be distributed at the school level by the block education officer (BLO) by March 14.
As per the letter, the examination will be conducted in two shifts from 9.15am to 11.45am and from 12.15pm to 2.45pm. Students enrolled in class 1 will be giving oral examination only. For students enrolled in classes two and three, the examination will be written and oral both. The weightage of written and oral examination will be kept 50-50%. The examination of classes four and five will also be written and oral, but the weightage of written exam will be 70% and oral 30%. The examination for classes 6 to 8 will be written. The exam will be of 50 marks in which there will be multiple choice, very short answer, short answer, and long answer type questions.
The duration of the oral examination will be decided by the headmaster. The answer sheets of class 5 annual examination will be evaluated by teachers of other schools at the cluster (Nyaya Panchayat) level. The secretary has given instructions to get answer sheets of class 8 evaluated by teachers of other clusters at the development block level. Report cards will be distributed on March 31.
