JEE aspirant missing from Kota found in Himachal Pradesh after 10 days | Jaipur News – Times of India

KOTA: A 17-year-old IIT-JEE aspirant, who went missing after leaving his hostel in Kota on Feb 13, was traced to Dharmshala in Himachal Pradesh Friday after 10 days of intense search spanning several locations, even as another teen, preparing for NEET, has been reported untraceable for 3 days.
Police said the student, Piyush Kapasia of Bulandshahar, seemed depressed and would be taken for counselling after being brought to Kota, before being quizzed about his disappearance.
Piyush has been preparing for engineering entrance exam for two years and scored poor marks in JEE this year. He went missing after leaving his hotel to appear for a routine test, and stopped responding to phone calls from his worried parents, who then reached Kota and approached police.
Kota SP Amrita Duhan, who was monitoring the search mission, told reporters Saturday that separate police teams were constantly working to trace Piyush, who was last spotted in CCTV cameras at Kota railway station with a bag..
Following leads, police teams reached Haridwar and Dehradun, where they found that the boy was headed to Dharamshala, Duhan said, adding that Kota police teams, in coordination with their Dharmshala counterparts, rescued the boy on Friday evening. The student had reached Dharamshala via Dehradun, and was being safely brought back, DSP Bhawani Singh added.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Aryan Mitra of Bengal’s Siliguri has been missing since he left his hostel room on Wednesday evening. He was scheduled to take the CBSE Class XII board exam on Feb 22, but did not reach the examination centre, nor was he responding to the phone calls of his parents.
The parents contacted the hostel manager, who lodged a missing report at Kunhari police station on Thursday. Inspector Arvind Bhardwaj said police teams had been dispatched to locate Aryan, but there had been no success so far.
