Belagavi: Six people were killed after a bike and a car collided near Mugalkhod village in Raibag taluk of Belagavi district on Friday evening. The incident occurred on the Jat-Jamboti state highway, on the outskirts of Mugalkhod. The driver lost control of the car and crashed into a tree. Five people died on the spot and another breathed his last in a hospital.The deceased are driver Ekanath Bhimappa Padatari, 22, Mallikarjun Ramappa Marethe, 16, Akash Ramappa Marethe, 14, Laxmi Ramappa Marethe, 19, Nagappa Laxman Yadavannavar, 48 and Hanamant Mallappa Malyagol, 42. Balanand Parasappa Malagi, 37, has been hospitalised. Athani DySP Shripad Jalde, CPI Ravindra Nayakawadi conducted an inspection. tnn
