Warfare Requires Constant Investment and Adaptation | Chennai News – Times of India

Chennai: As warfare evolves, there should be constant investment and adaptation, said experts who participated in a two-day international conference at Saveetha School of Law that began on Friday.
They discussed the evolving nature of warfare and its implications on security. Retired army personnel, bureaucrats and former Indian envoys participated in the conference.
Air Marshal S Varthaman said it is crucial to integrate intelligence forces to handle the military preparedness of today. “This is where technology comes in,” he added.
“The nature of warfare is deeply intertwined with technology. As technology evolves, we should also see how we can leverage that to evolve warfare or vice versa,” said Major General Alok Deb.
The conference also addressed the dynamic between maritime and land-based power, particularly in the context of recent harmonisation efforts. Former Indian high commissioner to Pakistan T C A Raghavan highlighted regional complexities like the trifurcation of the Baloch region.
