Nagpur: BJP’s poll machinery is looking to get its foot soldiers organized in corporate style by introducing a ‘cluster system’ for Lok Sabha elections. Announcing details of the cluster policy at a party meet held on Saturday in Nagpur, BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that a total 15 clusters have been created for 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
“We have put Nagpur, Ramtek, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Bhandar-Gondia in one cluster,” said Bawankule. “These clusters have been formed after scientific surveys and will aid in better poll management,” he added.
A cluster management committee will be established soon to oversee the work, but Bawankule emphasized that the focus remains booth level management. “We must ensure that things are being run properly at the booth level. Plus, masses must be informed about all the development work done under leadership of PM Narendra Modi,” Bawankule said. He emphasized that party workers must ensure that the new voters list is available at every booth.
Saturday’s meeting was attended by party’s MLAs from Vidarbha and senior party functionaries of the region. “We need to work smartly and finish the job perfectly in less time. Prepare points about topics you are going to address in public. Talk about local development work, inform people about different schemes and their benefits,” Bawankule said.
He instructed party members to hold “Namo Chaupal” to interact with citizens at every booth. “Also, it is mandatory for all party officials to download the NaMo app,” added Bawankule.
Union minister of state Faggan Singh Kulaste, BJP MP from Mandla in Madhya Pradesh, said the central govt’s schemes have greatly benefited the poor and needy. “Spread the message of Modi guarantee. Both Nitin Gadkari and Devendra Fadnavis have played a key role in the development of the nation and state. Maharashtra’s economic power has increased under Fadnavis,” said Kulaste.
He slammed Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar for being ‘opportunistic’. “Just for power they took certain decisions. During Covid pandemic, the MVA govt left Maharashtra in dire straits. Had it not been for BJP workers the situation would have been worse,” said Kulaste.
