Motorist gets 6-foot-long traffic challan in Bengaluru | Bengaluru News – Times of India

Bengaluru: Continuing their drive against vehicle owners with pending fine amount of Rs 50,000 or more, traffic police received Rs 49,100 from a trader in Yelahanka for pending fines from 100 cases of traffic violations.
The vehicle owner, Muniraju visited Yelahanka police station on Friday and paid the amount in cash. Cops handed him a lengthy receipt, measuring at least six feet.The cases were registered over a span of less than two years. Muniraju owned a gearless scooter. According to police records, he had 100 pending cases — 94 of them for not wearing helmet (Rs 45,900), three for jumping traffic signal (Rs 1,100) and remaining three for wrong parking (Rs 2,100). Earlier this week, cops had seized his vehicle and kept it in Yelahanka traffic police station.TNN
