Kolkata: Bidhannagar Police cyber cell on Saturday busted a fake call centre operating near Survey Park that was duping people by making fake promises of providing loans or by offering huge returns on investments. Eight persons have been arrested from Tollygunge.
“Based on a written complaint by Keya Paul, residing under Airport PS, a case was registered on Feb 8.She received a phone call where the caller identified himself as a private insurance company employee,” said a senior officer. Airport cops identified a fake call centre racket operating under Survey Park police station from where the calls were made.
