Vasco: Chicolna-Bogmalo gram sabha on Sunday discussed a range of issues, including lack of adequate water supply and the tardy pace of development works.
The gram sabha also resolved to collect a month’s rent from villagers who rent our their houses, and also assist cops in tenant verification.
Sarpanch Sankalp Mahale told the villagers that the the previous gram sabha resolution will be implemented to reassess the house tax rate.
Several members spoke on the irregular water supply, pointing out that the problem accentuates during the summer months.
“Despite several assurances by the panchayat as well as the MLA, nothing much has been done,” a villager said.
Another local demanded that the panchayat make renewed attempts to ensure that the water scarcity issue is resolved on priority.
Some members also sought a reply for the incomplete work on the football ground as well as the lack of tourism activities even though Bogmalo beach receives decent footfalls.
