Kanpur: Traffic remained disrupted for several hours at the National Highway in the Gujaini area under the limits of Govind Nagar police station after a major fire broke out in a trailer loaded with a consignment of cables.
A trailer coming from Bhauti side caught fire on the National Highway in Gujaini area due to which 15 bundles of cable kept in the trailer gutted in the inferno.The driver and the attendant saved their lives by jumping from the burning truck. After the fire, there was a massive traffic snarl of several kilometres on the National Highway.
“After receiving the information, four fire tenders from various fire stations, including Fazalganj fire station reached the spot. Later, the firefighters toiled hard to control the fire. However, there is no report of any casualty in the incident,” said chief fire officer Deepak Sharma.
