Visitors were seen clicking photos with armed forces personnel, tanks, helicopters, military vehicles and guns displayed at the expo, Harsh Koli, a mechanical engineering student, was thrilled after he spoke to representatives and senior officials of several companies working in the defence sector.
“All my doubts were cleared after coming to the expo. After completing my studies, I would like to join one of the companies and work on high-level defence systems,” he told TOI. Like Koli, as many as 40,000 students visited the stalls belonging to leading defence companies and MSMEs at the expo on Sunday.

Visitor Sandesh Kulkarni said, “It was a unique experience to see the mighty military equipment, which I had only seen in movies before. I could not believe my luck when I got an opportunity to touch the tank and its chains,” Kulkarni said.
A majority of the visitors had never seen military equipment and systems at a close range and were excited to learn about its functioning. Ganesh Nibe, the president of Nibe Defence Industry and the knowledge partner of the expo, told TOI, “Around 69,000 people visited the expo on the first day, while Sunday witnessed a footfall of over two lakh people, including students and children. The event received an unprecedented response.
