Delhi, Noida traffic advisory: Routes to avoid amid farmers’s tractor march | Noida News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Farmers affiliated with the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU-Tikait) on Monday began their protest from the Yamuna Expressway to Jewar’s internal roads. They changed their earlier plan of a tractor march from Mehndipur to Falaida cut, citing the ongoing board exams for class 10 and 12 students.

Traffic police issued an advisory on Sunday evening, indicating that restrictions would be imposed at the Noida-Delhi borders.
“The traffic police will place barricades on DND Flyway, Chilla border, Kalindi Kunj border, to check vehicles. In case traffic pressure increases, the traffic police will divert the traffic. Commuters are advised to take alternate routes and travel by metro to avoid inconvenience,” it said.
According to the revised plan, farmers will assemble with their tractors at Mehndipur village in Rabupura. They will then proceed to the Yamuna Expressway flyover loop in Falonda village, where they intend to submit a memorandum to the authorities before concluding their protest.

“…A program to take out a ‘Tractor chain’ has been decided. Tractors will be parked on the highway that leads to Delhi, especially the divider highway…It was decided to register a different kind of protest so that the government would listen to us and not forget the farmers,” said farmer leader Rakesh Tikait.
To minimize traffic disruptions for those traveling to Delhi, the traffic police have advised the use of metro services. Access for all types of vehicles will be restricted on routes from the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway via Yamuna Expressway and from Sirsa via Pari Chowk.
