Jaipur: Fresh spell of western disturbances on Sunday brought cloudy conditions across the state, however, mercury continued to take an upward swing.
Mount Abu remained coldest in the state where a minimum temperature of 6.5 degree Celsius was recorded, the Met reports said.
Met office stated that some places in Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner and Jodhpur are likely to get mild showers on Monday.
Attributing the change in the weather to the active western disturbances and vanishing of northerly winds, Met office said that mild to moderate showers would be witnessed at some places in the northern and some places in the western Rajasthan.
People in Jaipur woke up to a comparatively warmer morning when a minimum temperature of 14.8 degree Celsius was recorded. It was followed by a cloudy afternoon when a maximum temperature of 25 degrees, almost three degrees below the normal notch, was recorded. In the afternoon people were seen in summer cloths as despite cloudy conditions the weather was warm. Since no fog and mist was present in the morning, air, road and rail traffic was smooth from Jaipur.
Met office said that for the next two days there is a possibility of mild showers on Monday and Tuesday, however, on Wednesday a bright sunny day would be witnessed. “Western disturbance will vanish on Tuesday evening. Thus, a bright sunny day would be witnessed on Wednesday. Thereafter, a fresh spell of western disturbance would be witnessed on Friday which will bring mild to moderate showers on Saturday and Sunday,” said an officer with Met office, Jaipur while quoting the weather forecast for the coming week.
Mount Abu was followed by Sangariya where a minimum temperature of 7 degree Celsius was recorded, Karauli 7.2, Sirohi 7.6, Bhilwara 8.5, Anta (Baran) 8.6, Sriganganagar 8.9, Udaipur 9.0, Jalore 9.1, Jaisalmer 9.8, Barmer 12.5 and 13.3 degree Celsius was recorded in Jodhpur.
The Met office said that mild showers will take place at some places in the northern and some places in the western Rajasthan in the next 24 hours.
