MUMBAI: The state government on Monday announced that it has come up with an uninterrupted power scheme to replace all old transformers.
According to the scheme, it will cost a total Rs 1,600 crore to replace the old transformers and ensure reliable electricity supply to power consumers, especially those in rural areas and agriculture consumers across Maharashtra.It will also ensure zero loadshedding, with consumers benefiting from uninterrupted power supply.
“Of the Rs 1,600 crore, Rs 200 crore has been sanctioned for 2023-24, Rs 480 crore in 2024-25 and Rs 480 crore in 2025-26,” said a senior government official while an additional Rs 340 crore has been approved by the government for replacement of transformer oil.
