CHENNAI: Tamil Manila Congress (TMC) will contest the Lok Sabha elections under the banner of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, said TMC president G K Vasan on Monday.
TMC would contest the polls on its cycle symbol and not on the BJP’s lotus symbol, he told reporters in Chennai.
Asked about the number of seats the TMC would contest, he said the decision would be made after many like-minded parties join the alliance.
Vasan said BJP Tamil Nadu in charge Aravind Menon met him on Sunday.
BJP state president K Annamalai, who met Vasan in his office on Monday, invited him to participate in the valedictory function of his padayatra in Tirupur on Feb 27. Vasan said he would attend the function. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in the function.
