Temple Fairs Draw Lakhs of Devotees to Raibag Belagavi | Hubballi News – Times of India

Belagavi: Lakhs of devotees are thronging the temples of famous deities- Renuka Yellamma of Savadatti and Mayakka Temple of Chinchali in Raibag taluk. Fairs on the premises of both temples have begun on Saturday.
Renuka Yellamma Temple is located on the bank of the Malaprabha River and Mayakka Temple on the banks of River Krishna.
Several devotees from the state and neighbouring Maharashtra are attending the fair at Renuka Yellamma Temple. This is a major fair of Renuka Yellamma Temple among three fairs, which happens on Bharat Hunnime and continues for two weeks.
With a maximum number of devotees thronging Yallammanagudda at a time, the local administration is struggling to manage the traffic. For security purposes, a tight police bandobast has been arranged besides CCTV cameras have been installed around the location of the fair. Also, the potable water facility has been made around the area on behalf of the temple management trust.
SPB Mahesh, administrator of the temple told TOI, “We are expecting around 10 lakh devotees to visit the temple within a week.”
Mayakka fair
The fair of deity Mayakka at Chinchali began on Saturday and will continue till March 3. Pallakki Utsav, a main ritual, will be held on February 28. Although the fair ends on March 3, the devotees continue to visit the temple for around a month.
Mayakkadevi Devasthan Trust and local administration have made necessary arrangements for the devotees. Kudachi municipality has made bathing arrangements on the bank of River Krishna. It has also made compartments for women to change their clothes.
