COIMBATORE: Coimbatore city cybercrime police conducted an awareness rally at Race Course on Monday to create awareness about cybercrime frauds.
R Sughasini, deputy commissioner of police (headquarters), Coimbatore city police, flagged off the rally.
More than 100 students from PSG College of Arts and Science participated in the rally.
Cybercrime police inspector PA Arun, sub-inspectors Muthu and S Suganya and other police officers also participated in it.
Inspector Arun said well-educated people were becoming victims of online fraudsters. People should not provide their username and passwords for internet banking. If anyone is cheated by the online fraudsters in cyberspace, they should contact the toll-free number 1930 and register their complaints on www.cybercrime.gov.in.
