Facelift of Bade Hanuman temple on cards for Maha Kumbh-2025 | Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: In preparations for Maha Kumbh-2025, the city is getting ready to be transform into a major hub of religious tourism. Among various projects, the Bade Hanuman temple on the banks of Sangam and Hanumat Niketan temple located in Civil Lines will be illuminated with facade lights before Maha Kumbh. Govt has released separate funds for facade lights in both the temples. Another important tourist centre will be the ashram of sage Bhardwaj. The work of building a corridor is proposed here for, which the encroachment has also been removed recently. The huge entrance gate of the temple, scenes of Maharishi Valmiki giving sermons on the walls, scenes of dialogues with Lord Ram and a huge Yagya Kund are some of the many attractions proposed here.
An amount of Rs 49 lakh has been approved for Bade Hanuman temple and Rs 1.1 crore for Hanumat Niketan temple. The first installment has been released to the tourism department for installing lights in both the temples. Among the important tourist centres of the city will be the several corridors which will be made along the places of religious importance and the foremost will be the Akshaywat-Saraswati koop corridor and the one being constructed at the ashram of Bhardwaj Muni. “The project of Akshaywat, costing around Rs 22 crores, will be completed well before Maha Kumbh and will be a major attraction of the Sangam city, both for devotees and tourists”, said vice chairman of Prayagraj Development Authority, Arvind Kumar Chauhan.
For constructing this corridor, PDA had already removed the encroachments. Soon the work will start to construct the corridor. A huge entrance gate of the temple would be constructed along with murals on the walls of the corridor showing scenes of Maharishi Valmiki giving sermons, scenes of dialogues with Lord Ram, Mother Sita and Lakshman. A huge Yagya Kund will also be built here. The basic objective is that people should experience the Ramayana period as soon as they come here. At the same time, work is also being done near Nagavasuki temple and at Bhishma Pitamah temple. Riverfront type road is also proposed in front of the temple. Also, a look of the ashram will be given inside where the visiting tourists can sit in peace for a few moments and can meditate. Along with this, beautification work will also be done near Bhishma Pitamah temple. “Different projects will be taken up by the tourism department and work on these have already commenced. Work is being done to ensure that the tourists coming here have a good experience throughout the year”, said Kumbh Mela Adhikari, Vijay Kiran Anand.
