Kanpur: Three people including an LLB student, were injured after three unidentified assailants attacked and opened fire at them near a farm house of a paan masala businessman in Mandhana’s Barhat Bangar area under the limits of Bithoor police station of the district on late Sunday night.
On the basis of a complaint filed by brother of the injured LLB student, the police have booked a case and initiated investigations and detained one person for questioning. ACP Kalyanpur Abhishek Pandey also reached the spot on Monday morning and interrogated the people of the area. In the firing, one Dharmendra Yadav (25), a fourth year LLB student, resident of Chaudhary Pur, Chaubepur, who also works as a guard at a farm, was shot in his back. Another guard Anar Singh (50), who lives in the same village, was hit by shrapnel. The attackers thrashed the third guard Yadunath, resident of Ghaghpur, Chaubepur, with sticks.
On receiving information about the firing, inspector Bithoor Jitendra Singh reached the spot with the force and got the three injured admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment, from where Dharmendra was referred to Regency Hospital. While Anar Singh and Yadunath were discharged after the first aid. Injured Anar Singh told investigators that at around 1.30 in the night, three people barged into the farm by scaling the wall and inquired about the whereabouts of another guard Dharmendra. “When he told them about Dharmendra’s location, attackers entered into a scuffle with him. Later, when they tried to overpower the attackers, they attacked the guards with sticks and opened fire at them,” said investigators .ACP Abhishek Pandey said a case was booked under relevant IPC sections in this regard.
