Guwahati: Complete libraries and a digital classroom will be set up in 2,600 govt schools of the state within two months with an expenditure of more than Rs 500 crore.
“It’s on the verge of completion. We will shortly inaugurate the new facilities officially. The task will be completed in the next two months on mission mode,” education minister Ranoj Pegu told the House on Monday.
In the ongoing ‘Vikash Yatra’ under chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Pegu said Bhoomi pujan or foundation or inauguration of various projects worth Rs 25,000 crore are taking place.In this ‘Vikash Yatra’, Pegu said 452 old secondary schools will be rebuilt at an estimated cost of Rs 2,700 crore.
“The implementation will start from March 1,” the minister said.
