Noida Expressway Power Infra Set for Upgrade: New Cables, Boxes & Transformers | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: Sectors near the Noida Expressway are set to get an infra upgrade as a sum of Rs 3.5 crore has been cleared for infra work such as replacing old and dilapidated cables, overloaded transformers, rusted distribution boxes and transformer isolators, among other works.
Power infrastructure of sectors 104, 105, 108, and neighbouring villages, among others, are going to benefit from this project.
An additional 10 MVA transformer will also be set up at the Sector 135 substation, which currently only operates on one 10 MVA transformer. Other works slated for the area include repairs of damaged LT line, earthing, and strengthening equipment.
The power department has set a deadline of March-end for completion of all infra works and villages along the expressway including Gejha, Shahpur Sultanpur, Barola, and Hajipur will also benefit from the revamp along with the urban sectors, officials said.
“We have begun repair and infra ramp-up works under the business plan submitted to improve the power infrastructure in subdivision 8 of division 5 of the power department. Under this, sectors like 104, 105, 108, 46, 47 and villages Gejha, Shahpur Sultanpur, Barola, and Hajipur, etc are areas where the ramp-up and repair works will be done,” Kapil Muni, subdivisional officer, division 5 of PVVNL, told TOI.
According to Muni, works already underway include strengthening underground and overhead cables and replacing those in need, along with laying new underground cables for 400-500 metres in Sector 108.
“Transformer loads will be checked and, if found overloaded, repairs will be carried out. If we feel there’s a need to replace any transformer then we will do that as well,” he said.
According to Muni, while equipment for all works has been available since mid-Jan, there may be issues in meeting the March-end deadline due to the previous delay in procuring power equipment and, if there are further issues with availability, then this deadline may be extended.
