Song Joong-ki shares insight on his character from ‘My Name is Loh Kiwan’ at press conference | – Times of India

Song Joong-ki is all set to embrace hard-hitting reality of refugee struggles in his next offering, ‘My Name is Loh Kiwan‘. The actor recently attended a press conference in Seoul, to spread a word about the film. Director Kim Hee-jin and actor Choi Sung-eun also graced the event with their presence.
During the conference, Song Joong-ki, portraying the character Loh Kiwan, found himself reflecting on a scene captured in a still cut from the movie.In this particular moment, Loh Kiwan is depicted with a tousled hairstyle. Commenting on the scene, Song Joong-ki shared, “After Loh Kiwan falls into the unfamiliar land of Belgium, all he has is the advice to ‘apply for refugee status,’ so he waits restlessly”, as quoted by Kbizoom. In a light-hearted exchange, MC Lee Geum-hee showered praise upon Song Joong-ki for his portrayal, noting his handsome appearance even with tousled hair. However, in a humble gesture, the actor modestly shook his head in denial.
Song Joong-ki also offered insights into the overarching themes and the emotional journey undertaken by his character. “‘Loh Kiwan’ is a movie about Loh Kiwan’s life journey”, he stated. “It’s a movie that depicts Loh Kiwan, who sets off to Belgium with the last hope that seems to have been cut off, trying to survive somehow. Many things happen, yet there are still healing moments”, he added.
Meanwhile, ‘Loh Kiwan’ film revolves around the defector Loh Kiwan’s journey for survival as he arrives in Belgium, where he meets Mari, a woman grappling with her own existential crisis. ‘Loh Kiwan’ is slated for release on OTT on March 1.
