Patna: RJD on Monday said the second phase of former deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s Jan Vishwas Yatra has been extended for a day. Party MP Manoj Jha claimed that not only RJD workers, rather people of all castes, religions and across the sections were coming to listen to Tejashwi and expressing their faith in him.
“I have been a part of this yatra since February 20 and I have not seen such a crowd before.Seeing people’s active participation and enthusiasm, we decided to opt for road shows, instead of public meetings,” said Jha, adding, youths and women were joining Tejashwi in his yatra, even during late night.
RJD state spokesperson Chitranjan Gagan said seeing the huge crowd and demand, Tejashwi’s yatra will not conclude on February 29. A rally of opposition INDIA bloc is scheduled at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on March 3.
Till Monday, Tejashwi had covered over 2100km across 26 districts of Bihar. He addressed people in Supaul and Araria districts on Monday before heading towards Kishanganj. Tejashwi, while passing through these areas, stressed on the need to develop Kosi and Seemanchal region. “Development of these regions are our priority as these places have maximum poverty,” Tejashwi said.
He continued to cash in on the government job provided during his 17-month tenure as deputy CM and increase in reservation scale. Tejashwi even hit out at CM Nitish Kumar for frequently changing sides. “Chacha (Nitish Kumar) had taken up the fight but left and switched sides. However, with the support of you people, your son will continue with that fight,” said Tejashwi, inviting people to attend the Patna rally.
