Jaipur: With the active western disturbances people of more than 13 districts woke up to an overcast morning on Monday. Some places in Jaipur, Kota and Bikaner divisions witnessed rainfall. The Met office stated that with the prevailing western disturbances many places in northern and western Rajasthan are likely to get hailstorm and rainfall. Karauli remained coldest in the state where a minimum temperature of 8.2 degrees Celsius was recorded, the Met reports said.
Districts including Jaipur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Kota, Jhalawar, Baran, Bikaner, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh witnessed overcast conditions since Monday morning.Some of these districts also witnessed scattered rainfall.
The Met office said that similar conditions will prevail in almost 13 districts of the state for the next 24 hours.
“Western disturbances were witnessed in Rajasthan since Sunday which brought cloudy conditions at almost 13 districts in the state on Monday. Similar conditions will prevail in the state on Tuesday. However, on Wednesday mainly clear sky will be witnessed,” said an officer with Met office, Jaipur.
People in Jaipur woke up to an overcast morning when a minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, almost 1 degree above the normal notch, was recorded. It was followed by a comparatively chilly afternoon when a maximum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius was recorded. Despite cloudy conditions no rainfall was witnessed in Jaipur city, however, in the Jaipur district scattered rainfall was witnessed at Shahpura, Bagru, Bassi, Dudu and Pawta.
There was a dip of almost 3 degrees on average in the maximum temperatures across the state. Except for Phalodi where a maximum temperature of 30.2 was recorded, most places in the state witnessed maximum temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius. However, cloudy conditions and rise in the humidity levels increased the early morning minimum temperature which was above 10 degrees Celsius in almost every part of the state. The Met office further stated that from March 1 a strong western disturbance will be visible over western and northern parts of the state which will bring rainfall and hailstorm.
