KANPUR: A police team from Unnao has reached Delhi to look for the operator of the bus involved in the accident that left 18 dead on Wednesday.
The accused, Chandan Jaiswal, a resident of Paharganj area of Delhi, along with one Sohan Kumar, has been booked by the police for reportedly operating the bus involved in the accident that claimed 18 lives and left 19 others injured, said Bangarmau circle officer, Arvind Kumar.”A police team on Thursday reached Paharganj to question Chandan Jaiswal. Besides, searches are underway to locate the whereabouts of Sohan. Both have been named in the FIR. They have been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 106 (1), 125 (a), 125 (b), 281 and 285 and 289,” he said.
The CO said the bodies of 18 dead people were taken away by their relatives for the last rites.
“Those who were injured and are undergoing treatment at the Unnao district hospital have left for their destination. Of the five admitted in the trauma centre at Lucknow, two are undergoing treatment and three have been discharged and their families have taken them to another hospital for better treatment,” he said.
Divisional regional transport officer (RTO), Uday Veer Singh said that all such buses are being identified which are wrongly registered in the name of temporary address.
