TIRUPUR: State BJP president K Annamalai flayed DMK govt for denying permission to BJP functionaries for conducting bike rallies with the national flag.
The denial of permission has revealed ‘DMK’s dislike’ for the national flag, he told reporters at Avinashi in Tirupur on Sunday. “When it is about the national flag, DMK has a problem,” he said.
Annamalai said the bike rallies were planned across India to spread Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga‘ appeal to hoist the tricolour flag in all houses on Independence Day.
BJP flags will not be taken during the rally, he said. “Still police have denied permission in TN. It is surprising, such things happen only in Tamil Nadu,” he said.
“Look how they have demonstrated their dislike for the national flag. They have shown their anger by denying permission for the bike rallies,” he said.
Annamalai questioned the reason cited by police for refusing permission. “How will a rally carrying national flag create a law and order problem” he asked.
He said ideally the state govt should launch such a campaign. “Chief minister should have asked the DMK youth wing to hold the rally,” he said.
Annamalai said police have denied permission in Coimbatore despite offering to conduct the rally in the time and route specified by the police.
He then hit out at the recent Hindenburg report, alleging that the firm spreads panic among investors through its reports to earn quick money.
