Orders Botanical dyed Silk Shawl-Indigo/Marigold/Maple Leaf

Gorgeous Plant dyed, leaf bundled Silk Piece!

Leaves of Maple, Cotinus, Oak and Catalpa orders Trees are bundled in Lovely silk Charmeuse. Then simmered in with Marigold Flowers. finally unwrapped and dipped in my natural indigo vat.

Naturally dyed in my home studio in Shelburne Falls Massachusetts. Local leaves used. This is a very special piece that took weeks to print and cure. I left in bundled for 2 weeks and the tannins from the leaves printed a beautiful golden color. After a dip in indigo, the yellow marigold base color turned a lovely light green.

Colors are permanent though they may lighten up over the years.

14" x 72" Lovely drape and color. Hand rolled hem.

Wash by hand with gentle soap in cool water, hang to dry out of direct sunlight.
