This is a 100% handmade authentic leather satchel. It is made from the highest quality cowhide available and adorned with sturdy brass buckles and hardware. I purchased this satchel several years back, brand new, for $400 from a lady in New York who hand-makes them. The entire bag is stitched with thick wax-coated thread, so it's guaranteed to last. The leather is extremely smooth on the outside and has some minor scratches, but none that penetrate the leather. With a good leather conditioner applied, this bag will look brand new. There is no leather cracking anywhere. I thoroughly checked the bag and took very well care of it throughout the years. It carries a 15" laptop with several books, papers, and files with no problem. It will NOT hold a 16" laptop! This is perfect for an airline carry-on bag orders or a university bag, as it can hold all your items quite well.
