Due to its rare diamond shape, this 24k yellow-gold gilded casket is highly sought after by collectors and admirers alike. StyleBuilt NY used a gilding technique orders known as ‘ormolu,' which meant that an item was made using a high quality metal, usually brass or bronze, and then gilded in gold that had a high gold content. Ormolu items also had the benefit of never needing to be ‘polished,' as they were considered ‘tarnish-proof.' The brass/bronze mount on this jewelry box is finished in 24-carat yellow gold.
