Unstolen Dignity is a collection of oil portraits and narrative vignettes using the beauty of art to orders join a national conversation about slavery and its legacy. The paintings reaffirm the Dignity of enslaved Americans and honor their contribution to the nation's wealth. It invites viewers to consider slavery on a personal level, through the faces of those who endured it.

The portraits are painted in traditional, Edwardian-era realism to convey a sense of stateliness. A short narrative accompanying each painting adds more contexts. Most of the subjects are old. Lines, crevasses and creases traverse their faces, revealing the strains and challenges of living oppressed lives. But they also show resolve and character.
