Description
orders An embroidered, hand made pouch with four compartments and a belt loop made by a Chinese bride in 1900. The button closure is made from an 1890 five cent Hong Kong coin. The type of fiber used for the embroidery yarn is unknown, although the work is embellished with metallic threads and it is stitched on silk. The other fabric used appears to be cotton or linen. The belt loop will fit a belt up to 1 1/2 inches wide. The overall dimensions are 4 1/4 L x 3 W x 1/2 D inches.
CONDITION: The front silk background is badly faded and some of the metallic threads have come loose. Light soiling on the back.
