Danish wall rug inspired by the iconic Ib Antoni guard from the 1960s wonderful Copenhagen poster.
Heavy ( 2 kg) Hand made tufted woolen rug , folded at each end for a wooden hanging insert.
Used vintage condition - no bald spots or missing wool ,not torn ,the rug came from a Danish home and had hung on the wall for over 40 years, it has an aged tint from being exposed for so long (pic 6), I have not cleaned or renovated it , it would look perfect in a Scandinavian MCM modern setting, photos are of the actual item .
Ib Anton (1929-1973) was one of the most sought after Danish visual artists of his time. His desirable and significant work was commissioned by more than 150 companies and organizations worldwide. Including LIFE Magazine, J. Walther Thomsen, Young & Rubicam, ESSO, Heinz, Dunlop, Carlsberg, Volvo, UNICEF, Philips, Fortune, Neiman-Marcus, The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and many more. His impressive body of work culminated in the orders era often referred to as Danish Modern.
Ib Antoni's vintage designs perfectly complement the famous danish design furniture classics made by other world renowned designer such as Hans Wegner, Arne Jakobsen, Kai Kristiansen, Arne Vodder who was also active in the 1960's and 1970's.
