Product Name: RARE WWII ERA orders MARX 999 LOCOMOTIVE WITH CLOSED SPOKE PILOT
This is the closed spoke or "embossed pilot" variation of the tried and true Marx 999. Most of these have a smooth pilot or "cow catcher". The smooth pilot has less detail, but easier to make from a manufacturing orders standpoint. Marx soon dropped the embossed pilot, thus making this version a rarity. This embossed pilot 999 locomotive is a great runner, be easy on the throttle, it will fly! It runs just as well in reverse. The headlight works. The metal body is all original with no touch-ups to the paint. Really a nice 70 plus year old locomotive!.
