Man Killed by His Wife: Property Dispute Turns Fatal | Hubballi News – Times of India

Haveri: A 50-year-old man was allegedly killed by his first wife, son, and another person by hanging him. The victim’s wife filed a missing complaint at Byadagi police station to mislead the police.
The deceased is Mouneshappa Kabbur, a resident of Yalival in Soraba taluk of Shivamogga district. He previously stayed at Masanagi village of Byadagi taluk.
The accused are Mangal, wife of Mouneshappa, son of Shambhu and tender coconut vendor Shivaraj Mudlappa.The crime took place on April 21, 2023. According to police, Mouneshappa and his family were staying at a farmhouse near Ayanur of Shivamogga district and worked as agriculture labourers. Mouneshappa had a property dispute with his wife and son because he had a second wife. His first wife Mangala is a resident of Masanagi village.
“Shambhu attacked Mouneshappa at the farmhouse, after which Shivaraj disposed of the body at Segebhavi Cross between Balehonnur and Holehonnur Road. Mouneshappa’s wife Mangala filed a complaint at Byadagi police station, saying he went missing while visiting Masanagi village on June 19, 2023. We interrogated the family members on December 23 because their earlier statements were not matching,” said Mahantesh Lambi, CPI Byadagi.
According to the CPI, when Virupakshappa, a relative of Mouneshappa, enquired with Shambhu and Mangala regarding Mouneshappa, the duo confessed to killing him. “We have arrested all three accused and sent them to judicial custody,” the CPI added.
