Central Govt Ready to Extend Help for Flood-Hit Districts in South TN | Coimbatore News – Times of India

Coimbatore: BJP national women’s wing president Vanathi Srinivasan said the centre was ready to extend all help to flood hit people of southern districts. After inaugurating a badminton court in Coimbatore on Monday, Vanathi Srinivasan said the state should shed confrontational attitude and work together with the centre during emergency situations for the people.“Centre is always ready to extend the required assistance to people in the affected areas,’’ she said. She said the state was bent upon accusing the central government. “Instead of politicising fund allocation, the state government should focus on addressing the woes,’’ she said. She added that she was aiming to make her MLA office the first carbon neutral office of a legislator in the country. TNN

PMO reviews relief work in flood-hit TN, team led by FM set to visit state
The PMO held a high-level meeting on the post-flood situation in Tamil Nadu. They discussed relief and rehabilitation measures, deployment of NDRF and armed forces, and a visit by an inter-ministerial central team. The intense rains have caused heavy inundation in several parts of the state. CM Stalin had met PM Modi to discuss relief initiatives. Sources say a team led by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit the flood-hit state.
Kerala govt to extend helping hand to rain-hit Tamil Nadu
The Kerala government will provide kits containing essential commodities to flood-hit Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan listed the articles and quantities to be included in each kit. Rice, salt, sugar, wheat, sunflower oil, bucket, soap, toothpaste, comb, and towel will be included. The items are being collected at the Disaster Management Authority office in Thiruvananthapuram. Southern districts of Tamil Nadu were affected by heavy rainfall, causing property damage and loss of lives.
