Gandhinagar: Asserting that the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) set a record in MoUs and pledged investments, state government spokesman Rushikesh Patel on Wednesday said that 98,450 MoUs with pledged investments worth Rs 45 lakh crore were signed.
Patel said 135 foreign companies have operations in Gujarat, of which 100 are Fortune 500 companies.
Patel said that more than 3 lakh people visited the Global Trade Show, which was set up over 2 lakh square metres alongside the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. He added that exhibitors from a variety of sectors showcased products and services at the trade show.
Patel said many MoUs have been signed for new age sectors such as semiconductors, green hydrogen, renewable energy and electric mobility.
Patel said MoUs worth Rs 18.87 lakh crore for 57,241 projects were signed at the 2022 VGGS, which had to be postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, MoUs for 41,299 projects worth Rs 26.33 lakh crore were signed for the tenth edition of VGGS held earlier this month. “In total, MoUs for 98,40 projects were signed for a value of 45.20 lakh crore, which is a record,” the minister said.
He said that more than 61,000 participants from 140 countries attended the tenth edition of VGGS, in which 150 seminars were held on a variety of topics. “In addition, 2,862 B2B meetings and 1,368 B2G meetings were held at the summit. Most importantly, sectors like semiconductors, e-mobility, green hydrogen, renewable energy and the like received a very good response,” the minister said.
