New flyover approved at Panjrapole in Ahmedabad – Latest News | Ahmedabad News – Times of India

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat government has given preliminary approval for the allocation of Rs. 185.12 crore for construction of two fly overs in the city.
As per this allocation, a 652-meter-long and 17-meter-wide flyover bridge will be constructed at Panjarapol Junction. For this project, approximately Rs. 86.94 crore has been provisionally approved by the state government. The flyover at Panchavati Junction will be constructed for Rs. 98.18 crores. It will span 779.19 meters in length and have a width of 17 meters. As part of the flyover bridge component of the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri
Shaheri Vikas Yojana, it has been decided to construct 20 flyovers in Ahmedabad city, out of the total of 75 planned for the entire state. For seven of these flyover bridges in Ahmedabad, the state government has provisionally sanctioned Rs. 612.86 crores.
Recently, the Urban Development Department presented a proposal to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel regarding the construction of two new flyover bridges in Ahmedabad, submitted by the Municipal Corporation. Out of the allocations made for the year 2023-24, Rs. 185.12 crores has received provisional approval.
To strengthen infrastructure such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, and drainage, as well as improve healthcare and transportation in these aspirational cities, the Urban Development Department has been allocated a total budget of Rs. 21,696 crores in this years budget for changes in urban planning and management.
To enhance basic infrastructure facilities in municipal corporations, municipalities, and urban development authorities, a total allocation of Rs. 8,634 crores has been made in this year’s budget. This significant investment is aimed at making the overall development of cities more robust.
The Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana which is dedicated to the comprehensive development of cities, has been extended for another three years, until 2026-27, to ensure sustained progress and continuity in urban development initiatives.
